Compare and contrast

NightJohn is about a slave that was bought for $1000 and girl named sarny that wants to learn how to read in exchange for tobacco. The girl once found a penny and mammy told her to hide it, Her and mammy always pray in the kettle. Old waller is the master and he is the one who bought nightjohn. nightjohn is the one teaching sarny ABC's for tobacco.

Mascot is about Malcolm when he was 13 in 1937 and he weighed 128 pounds and was in the ring versing a white man. The ring is the only place where a negro wouldnt get lynched for beating a white man. He got sent to a reform school for putting a tack on his teachers chair and his teacher sitting on it. Reform means change and to become better. English and history was his favorite classes. In the 7th grade he became the class president. When he was 16 he caught the buss to Boston in 1940. Malcolm told his english teacher he wanted to be a lawyer.

The great debaters is more like Mascot because He went to Boston where main events happens in the movie. Malcolm also wanted to be a lawyer just like one of the characters in the movie. Malcolm was also around the same age as one of the debaters in the movie. The great debaters is like nightjohn only because their was a lot of racism in that story and their was many parts of the movie where their was Negros being harassed or killed.

the past week was beast

We watched this movie and it was by far the best movie ever, it really changed the way i look at debaters. Those people are really really really good at debating. I would hate to be their opponents. I love where my seat is its awesome i sit in front of bailey, man is that gurl crazy. She is always makin weird faces at, it kinda freaks me out somtimes.

OH YEAH 12 angry men YEAH

This week we read and watched the 12 angry men, and after i was pretty angry because they just let the guy be innocent because they couldn't reach a agreement. I think that the guy was quilty from the start. There was too much arguing and screaming in the movie, that 3rd juror was getting really mad over nothing. Yesterday we saw the play to kill a mocking bird and i thought that it was ok except they made scout seem like a little brat, she was always yelling in the play..... and Dill didnt even seem close to the Dill in the movie. But overall i thought it was ok..

THIS WEEK WAS SO MUCH FUN!!!!

THIS WEEK WE READ TO KILL A MOCKING BIRD AND THAT BOOK IS SO AWESOME. THEN WE WATCHED THE MOVIE AND IT WAS 10 TIMES BETTER THAN THE BOOK. MR. POTTER READS THE BOOK LIKE A REAL PERSON FROM THE SOUTH..... Yeah so that's basically what happened at school this week, and halloween last night was crazy, i dressed up like a vigilante like spider man and i kept evil off the streets. I was fighting this evil villain for his candy that he stole from a house, it was pretty crazy considering i was like 5 years older than him but i won then his parents came and beat me up..... THIS WEEK WAS THE AWESOMIST

English 10

English 10 this week was pretty cool, we wrote poems and did some other cool stuff. The thing i hate the most about English is poetry, i just think that it is pointless learning about something that doesnt even matter. My english teacher is pretty coo too, but whats with his clothes, he dresses like a hobo. The kids in my class are really crazy always makeing sounds and stuff, im like what the heck these kids doin making noises.
